Gardens

There are some wonderful gardens in West Wales, and they're a magical day out for all the family. Here are our favourites....

Aberglasney Gardens, Llangathen. SA32 8QH

One of Wales' finest gardens and a jewel in the crown of days out in West Wales. The gardens are set in over 10 acres, and include an Elizabethan cloister garden, mansion, shop and cafe.

 

Cae Hir Gardens, Lampeter. SA48 7NG

These beautiful gardens are the extraordinary creation of dutchman Wil Akermans. Small but perfectly formed, they have been open to the public since 1989. The tearoom is also fantastic here, sit back and enjoy the view of the stunning gardens.

 

National Botanic Garden of Wales

Opened since 2000, these gorgeous gardens were the first botanic gardens of the new century. There's plenty to see and do here, including a visit to the Bee Garden, Japanese Garden and Lord Foster's Great Glasshouse.

Picton Castle Gardens, Haverfordwest. SA62 4AS

The stunning Picton Castle is surrounded by 40 acres of gorgeous gardens, packed with rare collections of plants from around the world. And you'll be sure to spot some of the fabulous wildlife here too.

 

Colby Woodland Gardens, Amroth. SA67 8PP

Set in a secluded secret valley this wonderful woodland garden will keep all the family entertained all day. Discover the secrets of an industrial past, as well as woodland walks to the beach, wildflower meadows and play areas.
